Narendra Modi: 15th Prime Minister Of India



Narendra Damodardas Modi took oath as the 15th Prime Minister of India on the 26th of May 2014. He is a dynamic leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Narendra Modi, born on 17 September, 1950 to a family of grocers belonging to the backward Ghanchi Teli (oil- presser) community, in Vadnagar in Mehsana district in the present day Gujrat state, India. He was the third of six children born to Damodardas Mulchand railway station. He also ran a tea stall with his brother near a bus terminus. He however, completed his schooling in Vadnagar. He was a keen debater righter from his childhood. He, at the age of eight, came in contact with RSS and began attending  its local Shakhas  where he came in contact with Lakshmanrao Inamdar, who is also known as his political gum. Later, he joined the Jan Sangh, a political outfit of the RSS, present day the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Modi was married Jashodaben Chimanlal only at the age of 17 but spent a very little time together and were soon estranged as Modi decided to himself to the RSS and later he become a Sangh Pracharak in 1970. He graduated with an extra moral degree through Distance Education in Political Science from Delhi University in 1983.

All along his political career from joining the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) to becoming the Chief  Minister oft  Gujarat in 2001, he has been accused of many controversies like Godhra riots (2002) but he managed to make Gujarat a model state and was elected continuously for three terms thereafter  - 2002-2007,2007-2012 and
